The Issue: New York Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs opposing mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani.
New York Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs stands firm. He is resisting the pressure from prominent figures like Gov. Hochul and Zohran Mamdani (“Chairman taking a stand for moderates,” Sept. 20).
He is not going along to get along. Jacobs knows pro-criminal candidates will only worsen crime and safety in New York City. Yes — it can get worse.
New York City has become a haven for doing whatever you want, to whomever you want, whenever you want without consequences.

If the Democratic Party wants to survive, it must divest itself of the socialist element. Leaders must force people like Mandami out of the party.
Jay Jacobs has bravely taken the first step.

I felt relieved to see Jacobs display backbone, principle, and courage by opposing Hochul’s surrender to an antisemitic socialist mayoral candidate.
As an Independent voter, it’s disheartening to witness so many Democrats being morally swayed by the left’s extremism. It’s crucial to recognize that there are still sensible Democrats like Jacobs, who uphold the fundamental values and principles of the Democratic Party without compromising their morals for radical ideologies.
Thank you, Jay, for taking the lead.

New York Democrats are in a conundrum to say the least.
At the center of attention is Mamdani, who, at this point, seems likely to become mayor. On one side, Gov. Hochul offers support, while on the other, Jay Jacobs opposes the socialist stance.
Regardless of their stance, the people spoke loud and clear in the primary.

Just as Jacobs followed his conscience by not endorsing a fellow Democrat, individuals from both parties should not be like mice blindly following their leaders.
Instead, put the divisiveness aside and bring America back together.

It’s apparent that Jay Jacobs is the only leading Democrat who cares about New Yorkers and the future of New York City.
The hypocritical governor only cares about her political future. Wise up, voters.

The Issue: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats opposing a resolution to honor Charlie Kirk.
No words can justify the thoughts, beliefs, and offensive rhetoric of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats who voted against the resolution to honor Charlie Kirk’s life (“A Dem disgrace,” Sept. 20).
Charlie’s life was taken by the hate and ignorance that’s continually blasted by the progressive left. He did not preach hate, terror or racism — he preached truth through conversation, always being able to agree to disagree through debate and respecting everyone’s values.

It is hypocritical that so many Democrats — especially Ocasio-Cortez and her sick minions — couldn’t vote for a resolution to honor a man that spoke of normalcy — not hate.
Kirk’s opinions, though at times disagreeable to many, were backed up by his dialogue with those who questioned him.
Democrats not only denied a father of two young children an honorable resolution, but are doubling down on their hateful rhetoric that Kirk was a fascist and bigot.
