Horrific injuries suffered by grandpa, 66, beaten up by child

A dedicated grandfather endured a broken nose and eye injuries after being violently attacked by a 14-year-old boy at a rap concert in Kansas City.

Thomas Schlange, 66, was assaulted during his work at the T-Mobile Center in Missouri while attending an NBA YoungBoy concert on Sunday night, following his request for the aggressive teenager to occupy the correct seat.

The bloodthirsty boy – who has not been named or charged over the attack – hurled Schlange to the floor and bludgeoned him with his fists.

A new video shows a distressed-looking Schlange with blood pouring from his mouth after the vicious beating.

According to a GoFundMe page, Schlange was already dealing with glaucoma prior to the incident, raising concerns about potential further impact on his vision.

Images shared on the page show Schlange with his nose swollen alongside a burst upper lip that is also bruised and inflamed.

His family spoke with a local Facebook page who shared the fundraiser, adding that he may require a nose job to fix it.

Prior to the confrontation Schlange was informed that a young manwas not in the correct seat and in the wrong area by revelers.

After going to question the teenager, Schlange was speared to the ground over a chair by the youth in footage that has sparked disgust online.

The unnamed boy is seen advancing on Schlange with his fists ready, prompting the man to try and create space, but he is met with a series of punches.

As he does, the crowd around the two erupts into screams as audience members try to intervene in the frenzied attack.

Eventually, the entitled boy was dragged away from him as Schlange was seen laying on the ground in a heap – having lost his glasses.

Robert McDaniel caught the disturbing attack on video while at the concert, he told the Daily Mail.

According to McDaniel other concertgoers had pointed the teen out to the worker as being in the wrong area.

He said: ‘He beat him up because his ticket was in another section, he broke his nose.

‘I’m trying to get these kids help. They are children. Not saying they are innocent, they don’t have logic or common sense.

‘We have an epidemic of these boys not being taught how to process through these emotions’, McDaniel estimated the worker was in his 60s.

Kansas City police said: ‘It was determined an assault had occurred and a male juvenile suspect was detained in regard.

‘Both victims received treatment at an area hospital and sustain non life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.’

A spokesperson added that detectives are actively working with prosecutors to consider charging the teenager.

Given the youth’s age, the matter will be handled by the Jackson County Family Court. The Daily Mail has contacted the court for comments regarding any potential charges.

An arena spokesperson condemned the attack as ‘horrific’ and noted that the staff member was on duty with the venue’s guest services team.

They said: ‘This isolated incident does not reflect our venue, our city or the thousands of guests of all ages who enjoyed the show without incident.

The spokesperson added that the employee’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

The ‘Make No Sense’ rapper is currently embarking on his MASA tour, short for Make America Slime Again.

He was expected to perform in Chicago on Wednesday night, however the United Center announced they would be canceling the performance and issue refunds.

The decision was announced on Tuesday by the arena but they did not give a reason why.

It is unclear at this time if the events of Sunday night in Kansas City had anything to do with the cancelation.
