US Marshals declare Travis Decker dead

() The U.S. Marshals Service has declared Travis Decker dead after a months-long search.

The motion to dismiss Decker’s arrest warrant, filed in the U.S. District Court in Washington, disclosed his death. He was previously charged with the murder of his three daughters: Paityn, aged 9, Evelyn, aged 8, and Olivia Decker, aged 5, who were found deceased in June.

Decker was reported missing after May 30, when he failed to return the girls to their mother following a scheduled visit. The search for Decker involved the U.S. Marshal’s Special Operations Group, the U.S. Border Patrol’s Tactical Unit, and local sheriff’s deputies.

Court records indicated that Decker had lost overnight custody of his daughters due to his homelessness, which led him to frequently sleep in his car. He stated he took his daughters only to secure, paid camping sites.
