The hunt is on to find several teenagers after families were caught up in a large brawl that broke out at a park in Sydney’s south-west.

The violence was captured on camera at Parry Park in Lakemba yesterday evening when the fields were packed with people.

There were multiple games of OzTag and training for after-school sport under way when the violence broke out about 6.10pm.

Police received multiple calls reporting a brawl.

A group of young men were seen pushing, punching and kicking each other.

At one point a man appeared to be thrust to the ground and surrounded by six others.

Two under-12 girls junior rugby league games were stopped because of the fighting, which spilled onto their pitch.

Competition co-ordinator Fedell Kasse said he was “disgusted at the behaviour”.

“If you have an issue somewhere else not at a park which is full of kids,” he said.

The altercation reportedly began as a planned gathering by two teenagers, potentially connected to a previous fight at Burwood shopping centre several weeks prior.

Witnesses told 9News it escalated in just a matter of minutes, involving dozens of people.

“I’m not sure exactly what happened exactly,” one man said.

“I believe it was over something, obviously, and yeah, escalated.

“A lot of families were here so it was actually quite sad, to be honest, to be able to see a lot of kids crying.”

Police said their inquiries were ongoing.

“Officers from the Campsie Police Area Command arrived and were informed that a group had been fighting before departing the scene before the police arrived,” they mentioned in a statement.
