Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine hitting Kyiv, other targets throughout country

Russian forces launched a massive barrage of drones and missiles into Ukraine on Sunday, killing at least four people.

The latest aerial attack, mainly focused on Kyiv, is the first significant bombardment since Russia’s major offensive last month. Tymur Tkachenko, who leads the Kyiv City Administration, reported the casualties and stated that 10 people were injured in the assault, with a 12-year-old girl among the fatalities.

“The Russians have restarted the child death counter,” Tkachenko wrote.

According to Ukraine’s air force, Russia launched a total of 595 explosive drones, decoys, and 48 missiles. They managed to intercept or disrupt 566 drones and 45 missiles.

On social media, a statement expressed optimism about Ukraine’s potential, suggesting that with European Union support, the nation could regain its original territories.

With the passage of time, patience, and financial backing from Europe and NATO, reclaiming the initial borders from the onset of the conflict seems feasible, Trump’s statement continued. He questioned, “Why not?”

These remarks mark a significant shift from Trump’s earlier stance. When he re-entered office, during a well-known February meeting in the Oval Office, he told Zelenskyy that he lacked the leverage to confront Russia and repeatedly implied that Kyiv would likely need to make substantial compromises to conclude the conflict.
