Video from August 2025: “DOLLY: A True Original Musical” opens in Nashville

In Nashville, Tennessee, Dolly Parton, a beloved figure in the state, took to social media on Sunday to announce the delay of her scheduled Las Vegas concerts. She cited “health challenges” as the reason, explaining that her doctors have advised her to undergo a few medical procedures.

Parton humorously commented, “I told them it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual visit to my plastic surgeon!” She shared these thoughts in a statement posted on September 28.

According to Parton’s post, given the situation, she won’t be able to rehearse and put together the show she wants her fans to see.

She continued, expressing her desire to perform her best for her fans, “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I can still work on my projects here in Nashville, I need some time to get ready for performing, as they say.” Parton reassured fans not to worry about her leaving the music scene, noting, “God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet, but I think He’s telling me to slow down a bit so I can prepare for more exciting times with all of you. I love you and appreciate your understanding.”

The post included a list of dates for “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas” that have been pushed from this December to next September:

  • Thursday, Dec. 4 to Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026
  • Saturday, Dec. 6 to Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026
  • Sunday, Dec. 7 to Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026
  • Wednesday, Dec. 10 to Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026
  • Friday, Dec. 12 to Friday, Sept. 25, 2026
  • Saturday, Dec. 13 to Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026

According to the statement, tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, with refunds available. Ticket holders will receive further details via email.

This announcement came shortly after Parton missed an event revealing Dollywood’s new ride, “Night Flight Expedition.” During the gathering, Dollywood President Eugene Naughton shared a video message from Parton to explain her absence.

In the video shown on September 17, Parton explained, “I had an issue with a kidney stone that caused a lot of problems and led to an infection. The doctor advised me against traveling right now, suggesting I take a few days to recover, so he recommended I skip Dollywood today, but I’m with you in spirit,” she said.

According to Parton’s website, the limited-run engagement in Las Vegas was set to have six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from Dec. 4 through Dec. 13. This “hit-driven concert event” would have been Parton’s first extended run in 32 years, weaving together seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites, per the site.
