Germany’s home kit for the 2026 World Cup has leaked online – and it pays tribute to one of the nation’s most beloved designs.

As shown in images from Footy Headlines, adidas has taken a nostalgic step back with a jersey that strongly resembles the kit West Germany wore when they claimed the victory in 1990.

This jersey, as per tradition, is mainly white and features black adidas stripes on the shoulders, accompanied by red-and-black trims on the cuffs. However, its most eye-catching element is the flag-themed design: diagonal black, red, and yellow stripes extend from each shoulder, converging into a prominent V-shaped diamond across the chest.

It’s an unmistakable nod to the 1990 World Cup-winning shirt, which carried a similar design – though that version placed the stripes off-centre.

The jersey is further adorned with four stars above the DFB emblem, each marked with a year of Germany’s victories – 1954, 1974, 1990, and 2014. To complete the ensemble, the outfit includes black shorts and white socks.

Harking back to one of football’s legendary jerseys, this design is expected to be a hit with supporters, who are hopeful that Die Mannschaft can evoke the winning spirit of 1990 during the upcoming summer in North America.
