Police say that Lucius Martin was arrested during a traffic stop, where he tried to reset his cellphone.
MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A man has been taken into custody and faces several charges related to the possession and production of child sexual abuse imagery utilizing artificial intelligence, as reported by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The MCSO learned about the suspect, Lucius Martin, 39, after a parent discovered images of their underage daughter and another child on his phone. The parent noted that they had taken snapshots of the device, revealing both the original photos from a “public social media platform” and AI-modified versions.
The police report indicates that four images had been digitally altered. According to MCSO, these altered images “clearly showed the children in sexually suggestive positions and appeared intended for sexual satisfaction.” It was found that these images were generated on June 3, 2025.
On September 29, 2025, Martin was apprehended during a traffic stop in Umatilla. Authorities report that he “refused to follow instructions” to leave his vehicle. Corporal Austin Moon of the MCSO, who identified Martin, stated that he saw Martin reset his phone in an attempt to “erase” evidence.
Martin faces four charges for creating child pornography, four charges for possessing child pornography, and a charge for destroying evidence in a felony inquiry. He is currently being detained at the Marion County Jail without the possibility of bail.
