HOLLYWOOD — “Abbott Elementary” is getting ready for the start of its fifth season on ABC, and the cast members are excited about what’s in store, suggesting it could be their best yet.
“Abbott Elementary” creator, writer and star Quinta Brunson is looking forward to what’s in store this season.
“I think the audience is going to have a ball. It’s coming in strong. The first episode is very sweet,” Brunson said.
Her co-stars agree.
Chris Perfetti, known for his role as Jacob Hill, mentioned, “We’ve done table reads for the first seven episodes, and they are the finest ones we’ve ever had. It feels fresh and adventurous, like something we’ve never tried before. I truly think it will be our standout season.”
Sheryl Lee Ralph, who portrays Barbara Howard, shared her enthusiasm by saying, “Playing Barbara Howard brings me immense joy, and at this point in my career, I feel like I’m delivering some of my best work. It’s amazing to be part of what’s shaping up to be some extraordinary television, thanks to Quinta.”
Tyler James Williams, who plays Gregory Eddie, reflected on his colleague, William Stanford Davis, who took on the role of Mr. Johnson, initially seen as a guest appearance in the pilot episode and has continued to be part of the show.
Williams added, “Quinta penned these roles wonderfully, but Mr. Johnson’s part really expanded due to Davis’ outstanding portrayal. It’s a great lesson for actors everywhere to give their best, as you never know where it might take you!”
“Abbott Elementary” airs Wednesdays on ABC.
