Lainey Wilson has opened the doors to her Louisiana mansion for the new issue of Southern Living magazine. 

The Yellowstone actress also opened up about her relationship with fiancé Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges.

The 33-year-old country singer revealed she told her husband-to-be, 29, a white lie on their first date.

The nickname ‘Duck’ was given to him by a former college football coach because he reminded the coach of a skilled quarterback with the same moniker.

‘He had a standout season that year, prompting the team to chant, “It’s Duck season; it’s Duck season!” And that’s how his nickname, Duck, stuck,’ the songstress clarified.

She then added, ‘On our first date, I told him that people call me Goose. I was lying, but he fell for it. I think he was like, “Oh, I’m in love.”‘

In a new interview with Southern Living, Lainey Wilson shared that she fibbed to her fiancé, Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges, on their first date; the couple was captured in a photo from September.

Elsewhere in the cover story, Lainey discussed where Duck picks up the slack in their romance — in the kitchen.

‘My fiancé definitely likes me for a lot of other reasons, because if he was dependent on my cooking, he’d be gone by now,’ she admitted. 

The Heart Like A Truck hitmaker added, ‘He can cook. He’s an Alabama boy, so he knows how to whip it up.’

Last month her wedding plans came to light in a Daily Mail exclusive.

It was revealed by a source that Lainey is planning a massive country-style wedding to the Pittsburgh Steelers star.

The event will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, where the music artist owns a 30-acre property.

‘The location is ideal because of her deep roots there, and Devlin’s connections to Alabama make the four-hour drive easy,’ an insider shared.

The source added, ‘The theme will have a touch of sexy country style — think California cowgirl with a twist, combining traditional elements with some flair.’

The ceremony won’t take place until the entertainer’s Whirlwind World Tour wraps.

The lovebirds announced their engagement in February 2025.

Duck proposed at the George Jones estate in Franklin, Tennessee, presenting the beauty with a large diamond engagement ring that was propped in a cowboy hat-shaped box.

The twosome began dating in 2021, but didn’t make their red-carpet debut in 2023. 

In January Lainey joked that she might ‘have to propose’ to her then-boyfriend as she waited for him to pop the question.

While speaking to Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie Xo during a CMT interview, she teased, ‘No pressure, brother! No pressure. I might have to propose to him. We waiting!’
