Police investigating homicide after victim dies following shooting in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Police Department is actively investigating a homicide following the death of a man who was injured in a shooting that happened in August.

The shooting occurred on August 28. Shortly after 11:30 p.m., officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to a report of a shooting on the 7600 block of 2nd Avenue North. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on October 2. Authorities have identified the deceased as 21-year-old Quandarus Boston from Birmingham.

Preliminary findings by the BPD suggest the victim approached a vehicle when an unidentified person fired multiple shots and fled the area.
