Fashion magazine Elle UK has issued an apology after being slammed for cropping Blackpink star Rosé out of a group photo.

The 28-year-old singer from New Zealand was at the Saint Laurent Women’s 2026 S/S Collection event during Paris Fashion Week when she seemingly experienced a ‘snub’.

She took a photo alongside singer Charli XCX and models Hailey Bieber and Zoë Kravitz, however, Elle UK cropped her out when they posted the picture on Instagram.

After receiving massive online backlash, the company has now deleted the original post and uploaded an apology to its Stories.

‘We deeply apologize for a recent post from Paris Fashion Week where Rosé of Blackpink was excluded from a group photo due to size,’ the note stated.

‘We did not mean to offend anyone.’

‘The post has been taken down, and Elle UK is dedicated to ensuring that our future content fully represents the diverse audience we highly value.’

The peculiar exclusion angered fans and followers on Thursday, especially since Rosé had attended the fashion show as an official global ambassador for Saint Laurent.

‘I’m not a fan of Blackpink but I respect Rosé’s artistry and being a brand ambassador with 84M+ followers,’ one commented.

‘She actually has more [followers] than all those girlies combined. This is deliberate cropping. They just don’t like her I guess.’

Someone else commented: ‘It’s ironic that she’s YSL’s Global Ambassador, yet she’s nowhere to be seen in the photos you published. Surely that’s not just a coincidence, right?’

A third echoed the sentiments of many, saying: ‘Elle UK, please show some respect and apologize to Rosé for the rudeness of cutting her out of the photo.’

Attempting to redress the balance, the publication then uploaded a series of photos showing Rosé solo.

Nevertheless, the damage appeared to be done, with fans continuing to criticise the cropping on the second post.

‘The most standout look came courtesy of Blackpink star #Rosé, a Saint Laurent ambassador, who sat on the front row in a silky romper suit that featured a camisole top and floaty shorts,’ their post read.

Despite the kind words, fans were quick to slam the publication’s actions as ‘shameful.’

‘After receiving the criticism and uploading. Just for making up the previous disrespectful cropped pic. Too late. Shame on u,’ one angry fan wrote.

Another suggested that cropping Rosé from the image was ‘unprofessional’.

‘As a means of communication between the fashion world and its fans, there’s a huge lack of professionalism,’ they wrote.

‘This whole episode, in which Rosé was visibly ignored and never mentioned by you, makes me angry.

‘She’s a Global Ambassador; treat her with the RESPECT she deserves. As fans, we demand the utmost RESPECT!’

Rosé, who grew up in Melbourne, has been the fashion house’s global ambassador since 2020 and, in January, was named global ambassador for YSL Beauté.

The apparent snub comes after the pop star was brutally shaded by Zoë, Hayley and Charli, after an awkward interaction between the group was caught on camera.

All four of the stars were sitting front row at the Saint Laurent fashion show in Paris, on Monday.

But when videos of them all chatting together were shared online, some social media users felt like Rosé was deliberately excluded from the conversation.

Soon, rumours erupted that there were tensions between Rosé and the other women.

One clip showed Zoë, 36, Hailey, 28, and Charli, 33, all animatedly engaged in conversation as Rosé sat beside them in silence.

What made things worse was that Charli, who was beside Rosé, had her back turned to the K-pop star to face Zoë and Hailey.

Rosé looked towards the women before she awkwardly lowered her gaze to the ground.

The video went viral, sparking fierce speculation that the three stars were purposely ‘ignoring’ Rosé.

The rumours were only heightened when Charli took to Instagram after the show to share some snaps showcasing her outfit.

One showed her sitting in the front row alongside Hailey, Zoë, and Rosé – but Rosé was under a dark shadow while the rest of the girls had a bright light on them.

It sparked even more speculation that there was an alleged feud and led to Charli facing immense criticism from Rosé’s fans.

‘Charli purposely posting a photo where Rosé doesn’t look her best and is in the shadows is psychopathic behaviour caused by jealousy,’ wrote one person on X, formerly Twitter.

‘I know she posted it on purpose,’ theorised another.

‘Is this real? They did her dirty,’ someone else tweeted.

‘Dude you’re 33 years old, drop those high school bully attitudes,’ a different user posted to Charli.

‘She is so vicious,’ read a fifth tweet, while a sixth said, ‘She’s so wrong for this.’

Others, however, defended Charli and insisted that her post likely wasn’t meant to be shady and was probably just a case of bad lighting, pointing out that Charli and Rosé are actually long-time friends.
