A popular progressive pundit said he sees Donald Trump as more of a ‘dementia-y-addled nursing home patient’ on CNN Thursday.

Jack Cocchiarella, 23, made the remarks on Laura Coates Live while discussing the recent government shutdown.

When asked about the current interaction between Democrats and Republicans, the Gen-Z commentator noted that there’s not much of a “give and take” at the moment and then addressed the rumors about Trump’s ability to run for presidency.

‘The only thing Donald Trump seems eager to give out is his “Trump 2028” hat to Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, who might not even recognize him at this point,’ Cocchiarella remarked.

‘Trump to me is kind of this dementia-y-addled, really nursing home patient in the White House right now.

‘He’s leaning on [Russell] Vought, he’s leaning on Stephen Miller because he doesn’t want to get the job done.

‘In my view, Trump is looking at this as a chance to golf more and perhaps redo a few sections of the White House,’ Cocchiarella added.

‘He just doesn’t seem interested in negotiating.’

The host of ‘The Jack Cocchiarella Show’ mentioned that the president had recently referred to his own Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director, Vought, as the ‘grim reaper’.

Many saw it as a threat to layoff federal workers.

On Wednesday, Vought said that the Trump administration would begin firing federal employees in ‘one to two’ days.

‘He’s taking pleasure in what Russ Vought said would be the traumatizing of federal workers,’ Cocchiarella said.

‘Like, that was their goal coming into this administration, and so it seems like that’s all they want to do.

‘And I don’t know how that gets any Democrat, who actually cares about people who are going to see their premiums double, triple, come to the table.

‘And why would you? This administration doesn’t seem interested in engaging,’ concluded the political strategist, who boasts 1.25 million YouTube subscribers.

Later, he reiterated on X, resharing posts lauding his remarks and stating: ‘Trump has dementia and I won’t hesitate to say it. Come and get me, Donald.’

On Monday, Trump, 79, raised alarms when he appeared to forget the year he was inaugurated for the first time, during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On Saturday, Trump appeared to forget that he had slammed Russia as a ‘paper tiger’ a few days earlier.

During an appearance on Fox & Friends last month, the president said he solved a war between ‘Azerbaijan and Albania’ when he actually brokered a peace peace deal between Azerbaijan and its neighbor Armenia.

Recent impromptu speeches – like the one in front of hundreds of senior military officials in Quantico, Virginia this week – have further raised concerns about the commander-in-chief’s mental prowess.

Use of AI-enhanced videos to depict the president by the White House have also contributed to the claims.

The White House revealed in July Trump was diagnosed with a condition that hinders the body’s ability to flow the blood back to the heart. Trump maintains he is fit for office.

The White House has also repeatedly dismissed speculation of cognitive deterioration from the conservative, citing an April check-up that he passed.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in September told a reporter that the president was all there, after he had mistakenly said he would be travelling to Russia to meet Vladimir Putin rather than Alaska – where the meet took place.

‘Perhaps there are plans in the future to travel to Russia. And on Friday, the president will be meeting with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, in Alaska, as you know,’ Leavitt said sternly, after being asked if the remarks were a ‘slip-up’.

Democrats, meanwhile, have blamed the shutdown on Trump and the GOP. They say Republicans are refusing to protects millions of Americans’ healthcare.

Daily Mail has contacted the White House for comment.
