TOPEKA (KSNT) – Federal officials are encouraging people to destroy a toy distributed nationwide as it contains dangerous levels of lead.

On October 2nd, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of 98,350 “Evermore Surprise Eggs” manufactured by In Motion Design in China, due to lead content surpassing federal safety standards. The toy airplanes enclosed in the eggs are especially hazardous to children, as lead exposure is harmful if ingested, leading to potential health risks.

The affected products feature yellow, pink, or green packaging, and the eggs themselves are gold in color, comprising seven different toys which include a toy airplane.

It is advised that consumers cease using the eggs right away and reach out to In Motion Design for a refund. The CPSC suggests that buyers should destroy the included toy airplanes and send photographic proof of the destroyed units to support@in-motion-design.com. Disposal of the toys should comply with local and state regulations.

The recalled products were available at 7-Eleven, Horizon, Speedway, and Murphy stores across the nation, retailed from March 2025 through April 2025, at a price point near $10. To date, there are no recorded incidents or injuries attributed to this recall.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, lead exposure is particularly harmful to young children, as their bodies tend to absorb more lead than adults, potentially causing damage to their developing brains and nervous systems. The EPA offers a comprehensive list of lead-related laws and regulations accessible on its website.

For further assistance, consumers can contact In Motion Design by dialing 888-727-2476, Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT. Additional details about the recall are available on the company’s official website.
