Kelly, 54, had criticized the former CNN host for blaming recent political violence on white men last Monday a few hours before. She had pointed out how his spouse, New York-based real estate agent Tim Malone, is white.

Lemon offered his response while responding to a viewer comment about ICE agents making arrests and 'acting like thugs' during his show Wednesday. 'And then you people and then you get upset when I say, "White men, are you okay?" 'And what is it, when they say - a hit dog will holler?

'And that’s why I say Megyn Kelly and Glenn Greenwald, they don’t wanna talk about political violence,' he continued, naming the First Amendment lawyer who had been Kelly's guest. 'Because if they did, they would have to face the truth of as much of what we talked about today: The greatest threat of political violence in America today is white men radicalized to the right.'

Lemon added: 'But they never want to have that conversation. 'Instead, they change the subject, they redirect, they take a question about insurrections, mass shootings and terrorism, and they turn it into a debate about what? About crime overall.

'Because you have to deflect it somewhere,' he continued. 'You gotta keep your base. You gotta fire them up. You can’t tell them the truth. 'Which is, I mean, so indicative of what happens with MAGA right now. 'And why? So that they can recycle the same old racist talking points that black men are the real problem.'

Lemon added: 'You don’t like what I have to say? Too [expletive] bad.' 'I don’t care,' he continued. He concluded: 'Megyn Kelly has a history of minimizing racism, of downplaying what black people live with every single day. That is her record. And now she wants to stand in judgment about who causes violence in this country? Spare me!

'Get the [expletive] out of here - spare me, Megyn Kelly.' Lemon also brought up how Kelly was fired from NBC in 2019 for comments about blackface. She went on to start her own media company and is now a fierce critic of legacy news.

Her show ranks consistently as one of the top three-rated news commentary podcasts in the country. In a statement to Daily Mail, Kelly cited statistics that confirmed higher rates of homicide victimization from black Americans when compared to other groups. She added: 'We don’t have a white crime problem. We have a black crime problem which Don for ideological reasons refuses to admit.'

Scholars have also said that systemic racism and socioeconomic factors explain the higher rate of violent crime carried out and experienced by black Americans. Lemon's 'Don Lemon Show', meanwhile, has been met with popularity since its rollout last year as well. He was fired from CNN in early 2023 weeks after making a controversial remark about then GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley, then aged 51.

He told co-anchors Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins: 'Nikki Haley isn't in her prime. Sorry, when a woman is in their prime in 20s and 30s and maybe 40s,' 'Are you talking about prime for, like, childbearing? Or are you talking about prime for being president?' Harlow, 40, pushed back - leading Lemon to respond: 'Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just saying what the facts are.'

He doubled-down: 'Google it. Everybody at home, when is a woman in her prime? It says 20s, 30s and 40s.' Lemon, 59, tied the knot with husband Malone, 40, a few months later at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. Kelly and Brunt wed in 2008.
