Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner is officially off the market!

The 74-year-old reality alum announced his engagement to Lana Sutton in a sweet Instagram post on Friday, October 3. 

‘We’ve got BIG news. The Golden Bachelor is OFF the market. I found my perfect match and she said ‘YES’. I love this woman,’ Turner exclaimed, sharing photos of the couple by the beach.

In the stunning pics, Sutton showed off her sparkling engagement ring featuring a round-cut diamond and a diamond-encrusted band.

Turner first revealed Sutton’s identity in April, explaining that their romance began after she slid into his DMs. 

He revealed that the relationship almost didn’t materialize when he initially overlooked her first message — but Sutton’s determination shone through as she reached out again, mentioning she grew up just 20 minutes away from him in Indiana, which piqued his interest.

The couple recently shared a glimpse of their love on a trip to Toronto. 

Sutton shared photos from Niagara Falls, saying, ‘Had a wonderful trip to Niagara Falls on the Canada side! Loved every moment with @goldengerryturner! Oh Canada,’ while the pair posed in front of the renowned waterfall.

Turner’s announcement of his engagement arrives 15 months after his separation from ex-wife Teresa Nist, the final rose recipient on The Golden Bachelor in 2023.

Turner and Nist later tied the knot in a televised ceremony in January 2024, making his new romance even more of a headline-grabber.

In December, Nist broke her silence on Turner’s incurable cancer diagnosis. 

Nist expressed to People her deep distress when Turner shared the heartbreaking news during a March visit to Indiana, noting, ‘He informed me, however, that it was the type of cancer he expected to outlive.’

‘He’s a very positive person and I am too, and I know that he will do the best that he can to make this a positive experience. 

‘And I sincerely believe it will turn out that way, that the cancer will not impact his longevity, and he will enjoy a long and healthy life.’

The 73-year-old led the franchise’s first senior spinoff in 2023, proposing to Theresa Nist on the finale before their whirlwind engagement, televised wedding, and split all played out within just a few months

She said that Turner’s diagnosis ‘wasn’t a factor in the ending of the relationship, at least not for me’ and part of the reason was the distance between their Indiana and New Jersey homes. 

Nist said she and Turner now seldom speak and that ‘sometimes she can’t believe’ she got married and divorced in 2024.

She added her final message to her ex was to ‘wish him the best’ and I’ wish for him a long and healthy, prosperous life, and I hope that he finds his person. I want him to be so happy, and I just wish him all the best of everything in the world.’

Meanwhile, the next Golden Bachelor has officially been announced: Mel Owens. 

The 66-year-old is a former NFL linebacker who spent nearly a decade with the Los Angeles Rams from 1981 to 1989. 

Previously married with two sons, Owens is now looking for love once more, according to ABC’s press release.

Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor premiered September 24, on ABC, with episodes streaming next day on Hulu.
