A significant recall has been issued by Foster Poultry Farms, involving over 3.8 million pounds of chicken corn dog products due to wood found in the batter, which led to injuries.

The Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Saturday that the company from Livingston, California, had received several complaints regarding wood pieces in the batter, including reports of at least five injuries.

The affected chicken corn dogs were produced between July 30, 2024, and August 4, 2025. They were sold under various labels such as Chicken Corn Dogs Batter Wrapped Chicken Frankfurters on a Stick and Corn Dogs Chicken Franks Dipped in Honey Batter. A full list of contaminated products and their labels is available on the FSIS website. These products have the code “P-6137B” on the USDA inspection mark or the packaging.

Consumers and institutions who purchased these products should not consume them. They should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

This recall comes shortly after Hillshire Brands, a Texas-based company under Tyson Foods, recalled 58 million pounds of corn dogs and sausage-on-a-stick products.

Food recalls in the U.S. are commonly triggered by the discovery of foreign objects, including not just wood, but also plastic, metal fragments, and even insect parts, found in packaged foods.
