The victim died after arriving at the hospital the same night.

A man has been taken into custody after police connected him to a murder case in the Baymeadows area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

As detailed in a release by the JSO, authorities apprehended 42-year-old Mark Gordon for his alleged involvement in the murder of 30-year-old Trevian Jackson on October 4, 2025.

On Saturday night, officers were dispatched at about 9:30 p.m. to a seafood restaurant located on Phillips Highway near Baymeadows Road. Initially, they couldn’t find a victim, but an hour later, they received information that Jackson had been admitted to a local hospital with gunshot wounds, from which he later succumbed.

The JSO Homicide detectives, in collaboration with the Crime Scene Unit and the State Attorney’s Office, initiated an investigation. They report that evidence surfaced linking Gordon to the homicide. He was taken into custody yesterday and is now held at the Duval County Jail.
