Community support fuels The Splatter Place's growth and success

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. () – The Splatter Place is where you can have with glow and the dark splatter rooms, games, and more.

On this episode of “Your Hometown Road Trip,” the team visited and chatted with owner Brandy Gunsolus about their journey and the significance of receiving such robust community support.

What is this place all about?

“When we started, it was in a much smaller venue, just down the road from where we are now, with only the splatter rooms. It was fantastic, and we realized the community needed more, so we decided to expand. We’ve moved to 401 W Martintown Road, still in North Augusta, and we still have our cherished splatter rooms, but they’re now state-of-the-art. They’re a bit larger, and we’ve added much more. There’s a Nerf arena, bubble soccer, archery tag, a play wall, a human crane, cornhole, street curling, and fowling. Do you know what fowling is? It’s football bowling, where you throw a football.”

What made you decide to do all this?

“We pride ourselves on being different. Though there are plenty of things to do in the CSRA, we aim to be unique. So, we thought, ‘What’s something different we can offer the community?’ It needed to be enjoyable for families, appealing to all ages, affordable, and that’s what we’ve aimed to provide and continue to strive for here.”

Let’s go back. What made you decide to start this business?

“The idea came about because of my daughter and grandson. They visited a splatter room in Texas, and the look of amazement on my grandson’s face with all the colors and paint was unforgettable. My husband and I always wanted to start a business, but we weren’t sure what. We just knew it had to be something kids could enjoy. That’s how the Splatter Place was born. As we began, we wanted more, and since we like to be a little different, it naturally evolved. The concept of what you see now simply blossomed, and here we are.”
