Joe Biden, the former President, is currently receiving a different phase of care for a severe type of cancer that was found in May, according to his spokesperson on Saturday.
“President Biden is in the course of undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment as part of his prostate cancer treatment plan,” explained the representative for the former president.
The radiation sessions are projected to extend over a period of five weeks, which indicates a new stage of his medical care, stated his spokesperson. He is also taking a hormone medication in pill form, they mentioned.
Last month, Biden underwent Mohs surgery, a procedure used to treat skin cancer. During his public appearances around that time, a significant bandage was seen on his forehead.
Back in May, the former president revealed that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.
His office said at the time that he was pursuing several treatment options to ensure “effective management” of the illness.
The former president, who turns 83 next month, is said to be “doing well.”
