Singer and model shot dead during motorcycle drive-by at age 29

Fede Dorcaz, 29, an Argentine singer, actor, and model, was tragically killed in Mexico City on October 9 in what authorities suspect was an attempted robbery.

Dorcaz, also recognized as the partner of popular YouTuber Mariana Ávila, was poised to appear on the reality TV show Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy when his life was unexpectedly ended.

The heartbreaking news was initially reported by the social media outlet ¡Siéntese Quien Pueda!, which honored Dorcaz for his artistic talent and passion.

‘Fede left us too soon, but his talent, charisma, and passion will remain in our memories and music forever,’ the channel expressed on Instagram on October 10.

Reports from TVyNovelas and Agencia México indicate that Dorcaz was driving a luxury SUV on the Periférico near Electrificación Street in the Daniel Garza neighborhood of Mexico City when two armed men on motorcycles intercepted him.

Reports suggest the assailants had followed him for some distance before the robbery attempt turned deadly.

The Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC CDMX) confirmed Dorcaz’s death, dispatching police and forensic units to the scene, which is known for heavy traffic and frequent motorcycle activity.

Authorities say their initial investigation points to the murder occurring during the attempted robbery.

Officials also confirmed that CCTV footage from the area is now being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

The surveillance clips reportedly show four male suspects fleeing the scene on motorcycles shortly after the attack.

So far, no arrests have been made, but police say they are working to identify and locate the men involved.

For Fede Dorcaz, Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy represented a major career milestone in Mexico’s entertainment industry.

Having lived in the country for just two years, the reality show was set to be his first significant project, and sources say he approached rehearsals with dedication and enthusiasm, according to Azat.TV.

Paired with rising singer Mariana Ávila, the duo quickly drew attention from producers for their on-stage chemistry.
