NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Titans announced Monday head coach Brian Callahan has been let go by the team.

Callahan’s tenure as head coach of the Titans ended with a record of 4-19, including a recent 20-10 defeat to the Las Vegas Raiders. He had taken on the role in January 2024 following the departure of Mike Vrabel, who left after six years due to 18 losses in his last 24 games.

During Callahan’s leadership, the team began both seasons with a 0-3 record consecutively. They have not secured a victory at home since early November last year and haven’t won two consecutive games since November 2022, spanning a period of 47 games.

The team released a statement, which reads:

Following substantial discussions with the owner and general manager, we informed Brian Callahan this morning about our decision to make a change in head coach. Such decisions are always challenging, especially when they involve individuals of commendable character. We appreciate Brian’s contributions to the Titans and his positive influence on the Tennessee community during his time as head coach. We would like to extend our gratitude to him and his family for being outstanding representatives of the Tennessee Titans.

Even though we are dedicated to building a strong and enduring football program through patience and strategy, we have not achieved the necessary progress. Our players, fans, and community expect and deserve a football team that meets a higher standard, and we are prepared to make the tough decisions required to attain and uphold that level of excellence.

The status of Callahan’s father, Bill Callahan, as the team’s offensive line coach is unknown.
