Ellen Greenberg’s cause of death has once more been categorized as a suicide, following a reevaluation by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office, as reported by the media.

According to People, the findings confirm that Ellen Greenberg, a 27-year-old teacher in Philadelphia, took her own life, despite having 20 stab wounds to her back, neck, and head, and a knife found lodged in her chest.

Greenberg, a first-grade teacher at Juniata Park Academy, was discovered deceased in her sealed apartment on January 26, 2011, when she came home early from work due to a snowstorm.

Her fiancé, Samuel Goldberg, reported finding her body after forcing his way in when she did not answer. He was never considered a suspect nor was he charged with a crime.

People stated that the latest report mentions, “even though the pattern of injuries is certainly unusual, Ellen was nonetheless capable of self-inflicting these wounds,” highlighting her struggle with anxiety.

The Chief Medical Examiner noted, “the fiancé’s DNA was absent from the knife used to deliver the wounds,” and pointed out that there was no indication of an abusive relationship or evidence of a conflict at the location.

“With all of this information considered, it is the opinion of the undersigned that the manner of Ellen Greenberg’s death is best classified as ‘suicide,’ the report said.

In his statement, Podraza said Simon’s report was “an embarrassment to the City, and an insult to Ellen and her family.”

“Ellen’s family just wanted the truth. It is clear the truth will not come from Philadelphia’s law enforcement machinery. Though Ellen’s city turned its back on her, we will continue through other avenues to get justice for her murder, by any means necessary,” he said.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office and the City of Philadelphia Law Department for comment.
