Search Intensifies for Pennsylvania Woman Who Vanished After Getting Threatening Phone Call

The disappearance of a Pennsylvania woman earlier this month, which seemed suspicious, is now being treated as a homicide, authorities revealed on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia police informed WPVI that their homicide division is now also looking into Kada Scott’s disappearance. Although the police had previously searched the Awbury Arboretum for Scott, they have not disclosed whether any discoveries there prompted the change in their approach to the investigation.

According to WTXF, the FBI is assisting local police in investigating Scott’s ongoing disappearance.

Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore mentioned that they suspect Scott, 23, is not missing by choice, although he could not verify if foul play was involved.

On October 4, Scott left early from her overnight shift at a nursing home. Her car was later found in the nursing home’s parking lot.

Philadelphia Police Captain John Craig noted that Scott had no history of vanishing, and her co-workers noticed nothing unusual before her disappearance.

Craig also indicated that Scott had mentioned to her family about receiving harassing phone calls shortly before she went missing. The police are investigating but remain unsure of the caller’s identity.

Scott reportedly left home with her car keys, iPad, iPhone, and iWatch. Her phone has been shut off, so cops cannot track her location.

Scott is described as being 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and weighing around 120 pounds. Anyone with details on this case is urged to contact Philadelphia police at 215-686-3353.
