The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says that the three are facing a felony charge.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office revealed on Tuesday evening that they have apprehended three individuals concerning a car crash into a furniture store on Dunn Ave.

On Sunday, Oct. 12, JSO reported responding to an incident at Furniture Mattress Depot following a vehicle crash into the establishment, which resulted in a fire. Subsequent investigations by the JSO determined that the involved car had been stolen.

According to JSO, surveillance video from the store revealed three individuals running away from the car.

According to JSO, on Monday night officers observed three people, who resembled those seen in surveillance footage, fleeing a residence after officers perceived what sounded like a gunshot. Upon questioning, the officers confirmed them as the suspected individuals and took them into custody.

Bernard McClendon, 18, and the two others, a 14-year-old and a 12-year-old, each face a felony charge.

JSO released the following statement:

“We cannot emphasize this enough: Parents and family members, engage with your children’s activities. This group made a decision resulting in the ruin of a family’s business. Consequently, this trio will now face the repercussions of their actions.”
