SAVANNAH, Ga. – Georgia’s football teams delivered impressive performances this past week, marked by Georgia Tech’s undefeated streak, a strong SEC victory for the University of Georgia, and an Atlanta Falcons win against a formidable AFC opponent. Here’s a comprehensive look at the latest football developments across the state.

#10 Georgia vs. Auburn – The Georgia Bulldogs celebrated a significant SEC triumph last Saturday, defeating Auburn 20-10. This victory elevates Georgia’s record to 5-1, and the team now holds the #9 position in the national rankings.

Junior quarterback Gunner Stockton showcased his prowess by completing 24 of 37 passes, amassing 217 yards. Demonstrating versatility, Stockton also led the team in rushing with nine carries totaling 26 yards, contributing one touchdown.

Running back Chauncey Bowens added to the Bulldogs’ score with a touchdown, completing four carries for five yards in the game.

Looking ahead, the Bulldogs are gearing up for their most challenging matchup of the season as they face off against the #5 ranked Ole Miss Rebels in Athens this Saturday. Under the guidance of Head Coach Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss boasts an unblemished 6-0 record.

The anticipated kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, broadcast live on ABC.

Georgia Southern vs Southern Miss – Georgia Southern suffers its second straight loss following a close 38-35 game against Southern Miss. The Eagles are now 2-4 on the season.

Junior QB JC French IV was 24 of 43 on the day for 313 yards. The Eagles’ passer had two touchdowns against three interceptions on the day. French IV was also responsible for two touchdowns on the ground.

Georgia Southern’s RB David Mbadinga also accounted for one touchdown. The junior finished the game with eight carries for 28 yards.

The Eagles will now hope to get back in the win column as they take on 1-5 Georgia State in Statesboro. Kickoff for the game is set for 7:00 p.m. Saturday on ESPN+.

#13 Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech – Georgia Tech continues to roll as the #12 team in the country gets it done against Virginia Tech. The 6-0 Yellow Jackets beat the Hokies 35-20.

Senior QB Haynes King has not missed a step since returning from a week two injury. King was 20 of 24 for 213 yards and one touchdown against VT. King also had 14 carries for 60 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

The big producer of the day was RB Malachi Hosley. The junior ball carrier finished his day with 11 carries for 129 yards and one touchdown. Georgia Tech finished the day with 268 yards of rushing offense.

The Yellow Jackets will now take their win streak on the road to Durham to take on the 4-2 Duke Blue Devils. Kickoff for the game will be at noon on Saturday and can be seen on ESPN.

Savannah State vs Allen University – Savannah State is officially back on the winning side following a 23-20 win over Allen University. The Tigers finished the day with 365 yards of total offense.

The offense was led by the play of Senior RB Joseph Hampton. Hampton accounted for two touchdowns on 11 carries for 110 yards.

QB Fabian Walker struggled a bit as the freshman passer was 11 for 26 on the day for 192 yards and two interceptions.

Savannah State will now look to keep the wins coming as they head to Augusta to take on Fort Valley State University. Kickoff will be at 3:00 p.m. at David Dupree Memorial Stadium.

Atlanta Falcons vs Buffalo Bills – The Falcons did not miss a beat and carried their winning momentum through the bye as they took down the Buffalo Bills 24-14.

Quarterback Michael Penix was 20 of 32 for 250 yards through the air. The second-year passer also tossed one touchdown on the day.

RB Bijan Robinson and WR Drake London helped keep the chains moving as the duo ended the game with 328 yards and two touchdowns combined. Robinson was responsible for 170 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries. London had 10 catches for 158 yards and one touchdown.

RB Tyler Allgeier also got in on the scoring with one rushing touchdown on 10 carries for 32 yards.

Atlanta will now head west to take on the 4-2 San Francisco 49ers. The Falcons and Niners will face off in a primetime slot as they will be the Sunday Night matchup. The game can be seen on NBC, with kickoff set for 8:20 p.m.
