In Southeast Washington, D.C., a violent altercation erupted on Wednesday night, prompting intervention from National Guard members after a woman allegedly attacked a man with a 12-inch kitchen knife.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported that Tiana Robinson, 31, from Southeast, D.C., faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon. Meanwhile, Kenneth Evans, 29, also from Southeast, D.C., was detained on charges of simple assault.

Shortly before 8 p.m., a passerby alerted MPD officers and National Guard personnel to the disturbance, leading them to the scene of the brawl.

According to a court affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, the altercation involved a man being stabbed in the hand with a large kitchen knife. He was subsequently transported to Howard University Hospital for medical care.

Authorities revealed that the incident unfolded as the victim and his cousin were leaving a restaurant and walking toward the Navy Yard Metro Station, when they noticed they were being followed by a man and a woman.

An argument ensued, and Evans allegedly punched the victim’s cousin in the face “out of nowhere” with a closed fist, prompting the victim to step in, according to witnesses.

During the struggle, Robinson allegedly swung a large knife at the victim, causing a deep cut in his palm.

Several National Guard members who were on patrol nearby witnessed the fight and stepped in to break it up, according to court documents.

Multiple witnesses told police they saw one of the suspects holding a knife during the fight, though police were only able to find a blood trail and no weapon.

MPD did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
