LA mayor to call for 'accountability' amid immigration crackdown

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is slated to speak on Monday regarding the city’s approach to immigration enforcement.

She will be accompanied by Representative Robert Garcia, a Democrat from California, along with leaders from immigrant rights organizations. Together, they plan to demand accountability for what they describe as the unlawful detention of both U.S. citizens and immigrants by federal agents.

A statement emphasized, “Mayor Bass has consistently stood in solidarity with Los Angeles’ immigrant communities, particularly as they face challenges from the federal government.”
