Ghost Pirates Ice Cove reaches milestone in Port Wentworth

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Port Wentworth is marking a significant achievement on Tuesday with one of its most substantial investments to date. The final beam of the Ghost Pirates’ new practice facility and entertainment hub is being put into place.

Just over a year has passed since the Ghost Pirates initiated construction on what is now among Port Wentworth’s largest commitments: a $30 million ice and entertainment facility. The conclusion of this ambitious project is now within sight.

Tuesday’s festivities at the construction site will bring together city dignitaries, project developers, and Ghost Pirates players to celebrate the progress of the Port Wentworth Amphitheater and Ghost Pirates Ice Cove. Attendees will witness the raising of the final beam, marking a key moment in the project’s development.

Once completed, the Ice Cove will boast a 90,000-square-foot ice rink, dining options, and more. Adjacent to it, the new amphitheater is set to host concerts, sports events, and festivals, enhancing the area’s appeal to both locals and visitors.

Located at the intersection of Meinhard Road and Monteith Road within Anchor Park, the Port Wentworth Amphitheater and Ice Cove are slated for construction completion by summer 2026, with a grand opening planned for the fall.

City officials view this milestone as just the beginning for the area. Their goal is to transform Anchor Park into a premier destination for both residents and travelers. For the Ghost Pirates, this development means a state-of-the-art home base right in the heart of Port Wentworth.
