The Bristol, Virginia Police Department (BVPD) successfully wrapped up a two-day operation aimed at curbing crime, which led to the arrest of 19 people and the issuance of 37 tickets. This operation also had other significant outcomes.

As detailed in a BVPD statement, the operation took place on October 15 and 16 within Bristol, Virginia. It was conducted in collaboration with the Virginia State Police, along with the sheriff’s offices of Washington and Russell counties.

The initiative was focused on targeting criminal activities, resulting in numerous arrests and the confiscation of illegal drugs, according to the release. Key outcomes from the two-day mission included:

  • 65 traffic stops conducted
  • 37 total tickets issued/summons
  • 19 total arrests made
  • 11 felony charges made
  • 8 misdemeanor charges made

Authorities managed to seize quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine during the operation.

BVPD Criminal Investigations Division Captain Steven Crawford emphasized, “Our top priority is ensuring the safety of Bristol’s residents. This joint effort with the Virginia State Police and the sheriff’s offices of Washington and Russell counties underscores our collective dedication to combating crime, especially the illegal drug trade, within the City of Bristol.”
