Purses Filled With Passion: Empowering Homeless Women Through Compassionate Support

AUGUSTA, Ga. – A heartwarming collaboration has emerged in Augusta, as the non-profit organization Purses Filled With Passion joins forces with the Salvation Army to extend a helping hand to women in need at the Center of Hope Homeless Shelter.

Founded in 2019 by Deborah Brooks, Purses Filled With Passion was born out of a desire to uplift and support women facing difficult times, ensuring they feel remembered and cared for. Brooks was inspired by similar initiatives and thought, “Why not create a project that focuses on purses filled with passion?” Her enthusiasm for aiding others shines through her work.

“I am passionate about helping others,” Brooks shares. “The idea of loving on people through this project excites me. Everything you see here today, from the purses to their contents, is generously donated. Sometimes, people contribute money, and I purchase various items to fill the bags for the women.”

The thoughtfully crafted purses are filled with essential hygiene items such as soap and toothpaste, as well as clothing suitable for cooler weather. To add a touch of inspiration, each bag also includes an uplifting book or card, offering words of encouragement to the recipients.
