A woman discovered deceased a week after her disappearance from a hospital in Perth has been identified as the spouse of a top executive from a prominent mining company.

Michelle Joan Leahy, aged 50, went missing after departing Ramsay Health Clinic at Hollywood Private Hospital in Nedlands, located in Perth’s inner western region, around 3 PM on October 16.

Intended to head to an appointment on foot, she never made it to her destination.

On Thursday night, Western Australia Police confirmed the location of her body, stating that her death is not being investigated as suspicious.

MLG Oz, a company supplying mining sites with equipment such as trailers, dump trucks, and excavators, shared the somber news on Friday.

“With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Michelle Leahy, wife of our Managing Director, Murray Leahy,” the company stated in an announcement.

‘The entire MLG family stands with Murray and his family during this heartbreaking time.

‘Our hearts and deepest condolences are with them as they grieve the loss of someone so dearly loved.’

The statement, which was posted on the company’s social media page, drew dozens of tributes from devastated friends and members of the community.

‘An amazing woman . So kind, caring, and full of love,’ one read.

‘Rest peacefully, Michelle. You’ll be missed by so many.’

‘I am so very sorry for the immeasurable loss of Michelle,’ another wrote.

‘She was so beautifully kind, warm and generous.

‘RIP Michelle.’

The tragic discovery came just hours after WA Police issued a renewed public appeal for information to help track down the mother-of-three.

Addressing the media earlier on Thursday, WA Police Superintendent Manus Walsh said ‘significant’ resources have been committed to the ongoing search.

During the search, Mr Leahy said his wife was ‘deeply loved’ and that the family’s ordeal was ‘very traumatic’

‘Ultimately we have three children who are at home and they don’t know what’s happened to their mum,’ he said.

Ms Leahy had been last seen a week ago on Bruce Street, Nedlands wearing light-coloured sandals, checked blue pants, a long-white sleeved top and a baseball cap. She was also carrying a blue bag.

Supt. Walsh said Ms Leahy arrived at hospital to seek medical assistance in a rideshare service.

Ms Leahy made the six and a half hour journey from their Kalgoorlie home to Perth last week to receive treatment.

She had been in a poor mental state leading up to her disappearance and was without her medication.

Her desperate family had spent the past week calling on the public’s help to find her, posting up a $100,000 reward for anyone who could help bring her home.

‘She is deeply loved and missed by all of us,’ Mr Leahy said during the search efforts last week.

‘We’ve got three kids that are at home, with absolutely broken hearts who are desperate to see their mum return safe and sound.’

‘We’ve reached a point of pure desperation where we’re offering a reward of up to $100,000 for anyone that can help find Michelle.’

Mr Leahy said he had been humbled by the degree of support from the public.
