Woman arrested after admitting to fabricating burglary, assault story


EL PASO, Texas — On Tuesday, October 21, Maribel Wong, a 52-year-old resident, was taken into custody for allegedly fabricating a story about a burglary and assault that she claimed took place the previous month, as reported by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Wong now faces a charge for making a false report to a peace officer and has been detained at the El Paso County Detention Facility with her bond set at $4,000.
