Feed the Hungry serves holiday meals ahead of festivities

SAVANNAH, Ga. — In a delightful preview of the holiday season, Feed the Hungry brought festive cheer to Savannah’s southside well ahead of time.

The “Official Christmas in October” celebration took place Saturday afternoon at the Windsor Forest Community Center. Attendees were treated to a holiday-themed experience complete with meals, fresh farm-to-table produce, and gifts specially prepared for senior members of the community.

Representative Carl Gilliard attended the event and expressed that it was a wonderful opportunity to support the community before the holiday rush.

“As we approach Christmas, many families face increased challenges. Today, we’re offering a hot meal, fresh poultry, and health screenings,” Gilliard stated. “This initiative, ‘Christmas in October,’ is our proactive approach to extending a helping hand before the holiday season truly begins.”

Looking ahead, Feed the Hungry is also organizing another event titled “Hope on a Plate,” set for December 15.
