Frontier Airlines adds limited-time flights from TPA to New Orleans for Mardi Gras

Frontier Airlines is gearing up to bring the festive spirit of Mardi Gras a little closer to Tampa residents by introducing temporary flights from Tampa International Airport to New Orleans. This service comes just in time for the renowned Mardi Gras celebrations.

Come February 2026, Frontier will expand its reach, adding routes from a dozen new cities, with Tampa being among them. This expansion is part of a broader initiative to accommodate increased travel demand during the festive season.

From February 12 to 22, Frontier will offer nonstop flights to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport from a total of 22 different airports. This move aims to make the vibrant city of New Orleans more accessible to party-goers nationwide.

“Mardi Gras is one of the most iconic celebrations in the U.S., and we are excited to provide celebrants from across the country with easy, affordable access to the Big Easy this February,” stated Josh Flyr, Frontier Airlines’ vice president overseeing network and operations design.

In particular, flights from Tampa International Airport are scheduled to commence on February 13, with services running twice a week, according to Frontier’s announcement.

Additional flights to New Orleans’ MSY will also launch from other cities, expanding options for travelers eager to join in the Mardi Gras festivities.

  • Charlotte, N.C. (CLT), starting on Feb. 12, three times a week.
  • Newark (EWR), starting on Feb. 12, three times a week.
  • New York (JFK), starting on Feb. 12, four times a week.
  • Las Vegas (LAS), starting on Feb. 12, daily.
  • Chicago O’Hare (ORD), starting on Feb. 12, daily.
  • Austin, Texas (AUS), starting on Feb. 13, three times a week.
  • Cincinnati (CVG), starting on Feb. 13, twice a week.
  • Washington Dulles (IAD), starting on Feb. 13, twice a week.
  • New York (LGA), starting on Feb. 13, three times a week.
  • Miami (MIA), starting on Feb. 13, three times a week.
  • Phoenix (PHX), starting on Feb. 13, three times a week.

Frontier Airlines also increased the frequency for Mardi Gras to the following airports:

  • Atlanta (ATL), two times a day.
  • Baltimore (BWI), three times a week.
  • Cleveland (CLE), three times a week.
  • Denver (DEN), two times a day.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), daily.
  • Detroit (DTW), three times a week.
  • Houston Bush (IAH), daily.
  • Orlando, Fla. (MCO), daily.
  • Philadelphia (PHL), daily.
  • Raleigh-Durham, N.C. (RDU), three times a week.
