K-9 Rebel aids in capturing trespassers with contraband at state prison

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. – On the evening of October 24th, just past 5:30 PM, Washington County deputies were alerted to the presence of two men suspected of trespassing in a field near Washington State Prison.

Deputies swiftly arrived at the scene and set up a perimeter. Utilizing the skills of K-9 Rebel, they initiated a search for the suspects. By approximately 6:30 PM, K-9 Rebel had successfully tracked down the pair, who were discovered hiding along the tree line next to the prison. Upon their capture, the men were found with a large bag of contraband.

The suspects, identified as 23-year-old Antonio Hakness from Fairburn and 19-year-old Jamarius Favors from Atlanta, were taken into custody. They now face multiple charges, including possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of items prohibited for inmates, and three counts of trading with inmates.
