The former aspiring Hollywood producer, David Pearce, who was recently sentenced to 146 years in prison for multiple rapes and the fatal overdoses of two women, plans to challenge his conviction, according to his attorney.
Pearce, aged 43, received his sentence on Wednesday after being found guilty in February of first-degree murder and rape. Prosecutors detailed how Pearce administered drugs laced with fentanyl to Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola and Christy Giles after encountering them at a party in November 2021 and subsequently taking them to his apartment in Beverly Hills.
Authorities allege that following the women’s overdoses, Pearce abandoned them at different hospitals. Tragically, 24-year-old Giles was pronounced dead upon arrival, and Cabrales-Arzola, aged 26, succumbed to her condition 11 days later.
