A terrifying incident unfolded in a Sydney unit, where a 55-year-old man is now in critical condition following a violent dog attack. Emergency services were summoned to Pyrmont Bridge Road in Camperdown around 10 a.m. after a neighbor reported the alarming situation.

Upon arrival, police were forced to break into the unit to reach the man, who had managed to make his way to the balcony. The victim sustained severe injuries to his arms and legs during the attack.

Paramedics provided immediate treatment on the scene before transporting the gravely injured man to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. His condition remains critical as medical professionals work tirelessly to stabilize him.

In response to the attack, the City of Sydney Council has intervened by seizing two dogs presumed responsible. These animals are currently housed at the Sutherland Animal Shelter while authorities carry out a thorough investigation into this distressing incident.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

A third dog, which is a puppy, is being held by police before it is transferred to the RSPCA.

”We investigate all dog attacks and have a range of actions we can then take depending on the nature of the specific incident and available evidence and severity of the attack,” a council spokesperson said.

“This may include issuing fines, and orders (declaring the dogs either menacing or dangerous) or initiate court proceedings where a magistrate may issue instruction to have the animal euthanised.”

Council and police are investigating the incident.
