Evanston, Illinois, is stepping up to support families in need this holiday season. Starting Monday, the city has launched a Holiday Food, Book, and Toy Drive, inviting residents to contribute to the community effort.
Participants are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys and essential food items, which can be dropped off at various locations throughout Evanston. For those who prefer to contribute financially, online donations are also welcome.
The drive runs until December 1, allowing community members ample time to get involved and make their contributions. Drop-off points are conveniently spread across the city, ensuring easy access for all residents eager to help.
Donation sites include Autobarn at 1015 Chicago Ave, Booked at 506 Main St, Briteco Insurance at 805 Greenwood St, and Chandler-Newberger Center at 1028 Central St. Other locations include Morton City Hall at 909 Davis St, Evanston Police Station at 1454 Elmwood Ave, and the Evanston Public Library at 1703 Orrington Ave. Additionally, Fire Station 3 at 1105 Central St, Fire Station 5 at 2830 Central St, and First Northern Credit Union at 1705 Sherman Ave are accepting donations.
Further venues include Fleetwood-Jourdain Center at 1655 Foster St, Levy Senior Center at 300 Dodge Ave, Noyes Cultural Arts Center at 927 Noyes St, and Robert Crown Center at 1801 Main St. Donations can also be made at Partnership Financial Credit Union at 2522 Green Bay, Prieto Community Center at 430 Asbury Ave, and The Merion at 1611 Chicago Ave.
With a range of options available, Evanston residents have a wonderful opportunity to spread holiday cheer and make a meaningful impact in their community during this festive season.
Families that want to participate must reside within zip codes 60201 and 60202. Residents will be required to provide proof of residency.
