Three men are in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle that veered onto the sidewalk following a crash near an Indian eatery in Sydney’s western suburbs.
At around 9 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the corner of Bungarribee Road and Lock Street in Blacktown.
Authorities reported that a white Toyota Corolla and a maroon Honda CR-V collided, resulting in one of the vehicles hitting the men outside Desizzz Kitchen.
All three men are believed to be in their 30s.
Footage from above the crash site reveals the white Corolla lying on its side, with a tree uprooted, while the maroon Honda remained stationary in the intersection.
Medical professionals from a nearby clinic, along with paramedics, police, and firefighters, are actively involved at the scene, as noted by Fire and Rescue NSW.
Paramedics treated the trio for multiple injuries before rushing them all to Westmead Hospital in critical condition.
Police have taken the drivers of both cars, believed to be aged in their 20s and 30s, to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers have established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Firefighters have cleared the branches and debris on the crash site and have rendered the site safe.
Transport for NSW has confirmed Bungarribee Road has been closed in both directions between Flushcombe Road and Blacktown Road.
Diversions for buses and cars are in place, with motorists advised to expect delays.
