A Venezuelan national in the country illegally was arrested near the White House Thursday after authorities allegedly found him in a stolen vehicle containing several firearms. The suspect also reportedly threatened to kill President Donald Trump, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
U.S. Secret Service officers approached the man Thursday evening after observing him “acting suspicious in his car while it was parked on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C.,” DHS said.
According to DHS, the suspect told officers that voices in his head had directed him to travel to the nation’s capital and kill Trump.

The weapons and ammunition retrieved from the suspect’s car, including an AR-15 style weapon, a Mac 10, and a Glock 43X. (DHS)
Investigators recovered three firearms from the vehicle, including an AR-15-style rifle and two handguns, as well as dozens of rounds of ammunition.
