In the early hours of Sunday, January 10, emergency responders rushed to Ware Street in Fairfield following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds in a home’s driveway.
Despite their best efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities later identified him as 34-year-old Amar Kettule.
Yesterday morning around 6 am, detectives executed search warrants at two locations: one in Bossley Park and another in Austral.
During the operation at Bossley Park, police apprehended a 22-year-old man. Simultaneously, a 23-year-old man was taken into custody at the Austral address.
Both individuals face charges related to the destruction of property valued over $5000, allegedly set ablaze.
They were charged with destroying property worth more than $5000 using fire.
The two men were refused bail and appeared in court yesterday.
Police will allege the men were responsible for destroying a car used in Kettule’s shooting.
