Man arrested in Aiken County on charges of assault, kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct with minor

WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. () – Melvin “Shotgun” Holder, aged 57 and a resident of Swainsboro, found himself in legal trouble on November 7th after being charged with two counts of Felony Child Molestation and one count of Felony Burglary.

These charges are connected to incidents involving a 12-year-old victim and a 12-year-old witness, according to local authorities.

The events in question occurred on October 18th when Holder allegedly broke into the victim’s home without consent. During this intrusion, he is accused of detaining one of the children and committing acts of sexual molestation against the other.

Following his arrest, Holder was taken to the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center for processing.

“No child should ever have to experience something so terrible. Our duty is not only to bring offenders to justice, but to stand with the victims and their families every step of the way. I’m thankful for the teamwork and professionalism shown by Sheriff Brewer and the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office CID. Together, we made sure this suspect could no longer harm another child.”
