Princess Anne has paid tribute to the two police officers tragically killed in Porepunkah, Victoria, by laying a wreath and meeting with their bereaved families.
During her first visit to Melbourne in over 15 years, the Princess Royal has kept a low profile, with all her engagements taking place away from the public eye.
In a solemn gesture, she laid a wreath to honor the memory of the fallen officers.
Her visit’s itinerary was kept under wraps until the very last moment, ensuring privacy and security.
Despite a discreet arrival at the airport last night, some passers-by were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of Princess Anne on her first Melbourne visit since 2009.
This time around, Princess Anne will not be participating in public meet-and-greets. Instead, her schedule is concentrated on fulfilling various official duties.
Her visit is part of a four-day east coast trip as Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals, to mark its centenary.
