Alleged gunman charged in 'mistaken identity' murder of Sydney plumber
Detectives have charged the alleged gunman they claim killed Sydney plumber John Versace in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity.

In a tragic incident, 23-year-old Versace lost his life to multiple gunshot wounds outside his family residence in Condell Park on May 19.

This morning, at around 9 a.m., detectives apprehended and charged 21-year-old Blaze Collins with murder in Silverwater.

Collins was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Burwood Local Court later today.

Authorities claim that Collins was the shooter responsible for Versace’s death.

Investigators suspect this was a case of mistaken identity, as Versace had no known criminal connections.

Last week, two other individuals were charged with their alleged roles in the murder, and their cases are ongoing in court.

A 43-year-old was arrested in Casula and a 19-year-old was arrested in Bankstown last Wednesday.

Police will allege those two men were involved in driving and moving the cars involved in the murder.
