Detectives are intensifying their efforts to identify seven individuals linked to an alleged assault on Victorian police officers during a protest in Melbourne last month. Images and footage of these individuals have been released in hopes of gathering public assistance.

The incident in question occurred at a March for Australia protest in the heart of Melbourne, which took a violent turn. Anti-racism counter-protesters reportedly clashed with law enforcement, resulting in officers being injured by rocks and other projectiles thrown their way.

This recent push follows the earlier release of images of eight other individuals earlier this week, along with the arrest of a man from Corio last week. The man faces multiple charges for allegedly throwing a rock at a first constable during the October 19 protest.

So far, police have released images of 15 people they are seeking to identify in connection with the protest. The ongoing investigation focuses on the actions of the counter-protesters, who are accused of pelting police with rocks, glass bottles, and even rotten fruit during the rally.

There are now images of 15 people police are looking to identify.

Detectives have been investigating the rally, where it is alleged a counter-protest group attended and tossed rocks, glass bottles and rotten fruit at police.

Two police officers were injured and had to be transported to hospital.

Other officers were hit with projectiles with enough force to crack their protective shields.

A wand used by police to detect weapons was also stolen.

A 24-year-old man from Corio was charged with multiple offences last week, including reckless conduct endangering a person, assaulting police and discharging a missile.

He was directly presented to the court, where he was bailed to appear on November 20.

Images have been released of a further seven people who were seen near Spring Street and Exhibition Street on October 19.
