JSO: Ongoing investigation after body found underneath bridge on Westside

Authorities have stated that while they continue to investigate the case, they believe the community faces no further danger.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body beneath a bridge near the Cedar River on the city’s Westside.

Officials report that on Sunday evening, around 6:30 p.m., officers arrived at the 3400 block of Blanding Boulevard, where they discovered the body of a deceased Black woman.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is still in its early stages, and although details are scarce, they consider it an isolated event with no ongoing threat to public safety.
