Hollywood’s brightest stars gathered for a dazzling evening at the 16th Annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles, yet not every celebrity hit the mark with their fashion choices.
Among those who raised eyebrows with their outfits were Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, and Amanda Seyfried. Their ensembles left some attendees and fashion critics puzzled at the star-studded event on Sunday night.
While Sydney Sweeney and Jennifer Lawrence topped the best-dressed lists with their glamorous attire, Emily Blunt’s outfit was deemed a rare misstep for the typically stylish actress. The 42-year-old opted for a red asymmetrical dress that failed to impress.
The dress featured an unusual neckline accent that resembled a crumpled bow, adding to the avant-garde aesthetic.
Additionally, the garment included sheer paneling that formed a V-shape from her hips to her inner thigh, an element that some found oddly placed.
Blunt’s hair was styled in an elegant bun, allowing her natural beauty to shine, complemented by subtle makeup.

She was joined on the red carpet by her The Smashing Machine co-star and frequent collaborator Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Meanwhile, 46-year-old Hudson rocked a rather frumpy long-sleeved, green silk dress.
The ill-fitting number featured odd cutouts at the shoulders and down the sleeves.
She did have her hair and make-up done in a callback to old Hollywood glamour, however, it was not enough to make up for the rather hideous dress.
Hudson was joined on the red carpet by her co-star in upcoming musical Song Song Blue Hugh Jackman.
Seyfried, 39, may have rocked the oddest look of all as she donned a brown and light pink polka dot off-the shoulder number.
The bizarre frock featured small furry bicep cuffs and a big pink silk bow at the chest.
The Mamma Mia! star donned necklace featuring massive diamonds along with a matching earring set.

Her blonde locks were pulled back as some of it framed her face as her make-up was complete with a swipe of pink lip.
Mia Goth wore a bizarre light blue draped dress featuring large tie-up sacks by the hip.
The 32-year-old wife of Shia LaBeouf wore her brunette tresses down in a middle-part as her make-up was topped off with shiny lip.
Another bizarre choice by the actress was that she opted to wear no jewelry other than small dangling earrings for the gala occasion.
Kristen Stewart donned a strapless black number featuring a lacy white detailing along the neckline and two matching bizarre lacy designs at the chest.
Regina King wore a look that was a bit disjointed between the top and bottom as the upper was a clinging sheer leopard-patterned bodysuit which was tucked into a flowy draped maxi skirt.
Queen Latifah sported an unflattering bright red number by Lanvin featuring an unusual shiny fringed design at the chest.
Jurnee Smollett shined but her gold gown did not exactly glitter as it featured an odd vine design from the shoulder down to the hips.

The Governors Awards, a prestigious honor bestowed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, recognize extraordinary lifetime achievement in cinema and exceptional contributions to the film industry.
The Governors Awards are often an emotional affair. With no television cameras or band there to play you off during a speech, it’s a night where friends and colleagues get to pay tribute to that year’s honorary Oscar recipients, many of whom are later in life.
The honorary Oscars are led by movie star Tom Cruise this year in addition to storied dancer Debbie Allen and prolific production designer Wynn Thomas also earning awards.

The Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award was not awarded this year.
Highlights from Sunday’s award show will be incorporated at the 98th Academy Awards in March.
According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the statuette is ‘to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences in any discipline, or for outstanding service to the Academy.’
