Authorities responded to an incident on Regina Street in Greystanes around 5:15 p.m. following reports of four individuals wearing balaclavas inside a black SUV.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the vehicle sped away, prompting a high-speed chase.
Police claim that during the pursuit, the SUV reached speeds of up to 80 km/h in areas where the speed limit is 50 km/h.
The chase came to a halt when the SUV collided with a parked car on Paton Street in Merrylands West, after which the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
In the ensuing foot pursuit, officers apprehended two men shortly thereafter, while a third suspect was captured with the aid of PolAir and a canine unit.
During a subsequent search of the SUV, police reportedly discovered a loaded shotgun beneath the driver’s seat and found two jerry cans in the rear of the vehicle.
Checks allegedly revealed the car was stolen from Balwyn in Victoria.
Three men, aged 19, 20, and 22, have been charged with multiple offences.
They were refused bail and will appear in court today.
The fourth occupant of the vehicle remains on the run.
