The D.C. Fire and EMS Department reported that emergency crews swiftly responded to the scene of a small electrical fire on the underground trolley, which was successfully put out.
Officials stated that two officers from the U.S. Capitol Police were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation.
The fire occurred within a tunnel that connects to the U.S. Capitol, as detailed by officials from the D.C. Fire and EMS Department.
Fortunately, no passengers on the trolley sustained injuries, according to official reports.
